So Nerdy Shirts has just launched a “submit new designs and vote on them” feature on their already successful t-shirt site which I think is a very smart move. With the success of the Threadless like crowdsourcing model it is no wonder that other companies are adding features like this. In many ways it will be much easier for existing T-Shirt companies with already established demographics and customer base to add this kind of model, rather than trying to build a community from scratch. It is unfortunate that the current prize on Nerdy Shirts is $200 cash + $100 in store credit, which seems low, but maybe it’s good to start small and start building the prize as you get more successful designs.
