Adam Rosen from Gelf Magazine has just penned a new article on the topic of the anti political correctness T-shirts. You may remember Adam for his family tree of ironic t-shirts which was a work of genius in of itself, and the anti pc t-shirt article is also extremely well done. Covering the Macy’s “Brown is the New White” and the ensuing kerfuffle, to the Abercrombie & Fitch “Oriental Collection” which included “Two Wongs Make It White”, to the Urbane Outfitters recall of their “Voting Is For Old People” shirt.
In most cases Political Correctness is a knee jerk reaction and an underdeveloped sense of Irony, and the best definition of irony i’ve heard is “a joke not everyone gets”.
