File Under Most Offensive T-Shirt Ever 02Nov08

NOTE: I took the photo down as it appears more than likely to be a photoshop hoax and i’m not interested in circulating that meme.

This was emailed to me with the subject line “Florida biker” so I don’t have much in the way of details of when this was taken, or by whom, but my mind boggles that someone could wear it. I had mixed feelings about even posting it as I find racism abhorrent, but I think it’s valuable to show this kind of thing can exist.

I have bad news for this guy though, Obama is going win and win big, it’s going to be a landslide. I know democrats are afraid another election will be stolen, but that is virtually impossible at this point. Obama has led the biggest get out the vote campaign in history and he is going to be in office with a mandate to get this country on the right track. Below is a photo of the McCain-Palin Victory Center in Santa Rosa Beach on the Florida Panhandle exactly 72 hours before the polls close there, looks pretty quiet :-)

    It can't be denied that there is a certain element of race playing into this election. It's a difficult thing for anyone to openly talk about since it is such a sensitive and complex issue. I'm actually kind of torn over whether something like this should even be posted. But I'm glad you posted it and since you did, let me tell you what I think about it.

    When you see this… there's really only one way to interpret what's being said. And it's sad to see someone wearing it so proudly in public. Even though we know it's alive, it still bothers me to see that kind of open display of racism. It's hard to see someone slap so many Americans in the face like this. People who have fought and died for freedom and equality in this country. People like John McCain who sat in a prison camp to protect this guys rights. As an Obama supporter, I'm certain that McCain would be as embarrassed by this as I am.

    That's revolting. It actually looks like it might be photoshopped on, though. I have a hard time believing even the biggest racist would wear that in public.

    I'm black and I live in Florida. I must say that I can't believe Obama won here, as our state is quite overcrowded with racists. But I think it's sad that someone would even joke about something like this, even if it was created in Photoshop. The concepts of racism are very much alive today, especially in America. Still, when all is said and done, Obama is still going to be president #44. This guy's T-Shirt isn't going to be as powerful as he would have hoped, I'm sure.

    Let me pose a question to you bloggers constantly whining about racism as if it is the greatest evil on the face of this earth. If I were to acknowledge a simple verifiable truth like “Among human races numerous studies have been made of the comparative weight of White and Negro brains with results that fell within the range of about an 8-12 percent lower weight for the Negro brain. Such studies have been conducted by Bean, Pearl, Vint, Tilney, Gordon, Todd, and others.” I would be branded a hateful bigot right?? for acknowledging reality? or how about making a statement like ” The rate at which Blacks commit murder is thirteen times that of Whites; Rape and assault, ten times. These figures, as given by the F.B.I. reports, vary somewhat from year to year but fairly represent the trend for the past decade.” I would not be tolerated yes? FOR MAKING A SIMPLE STATEMENT OF FACT I AM BRANDED A BIGOT, RACIST, HATE MONGER ETC BUT ALL I AM DOING IS ACKNOWLEDGING REALITY. RACISM IS A PC CODE WORD TO PARALYZE INDEPENDENT THOUGHT!
