Did you catch his spiel tonight? I heard about a minute of it… and then I played Wii Sports to soothe the pain. Trying to frame his actions as protecting America and rescuing a wartorn country that had recently been subjected from tyranny (a paraphrase of the bit I heard)? … come on, now.

If you guys hadn’t heard the “surge” language until yesterday, you need to be paying closer attention. They are using the word to avoid saying “escalation” and to distinguish it semantically from “staying the course”.
